Commonly Asked Questions
What is hot water extraction, and how does it work?
Hot water extraction, often called steam cleaning, uses heated water and professional-grade cleaning solutions that are injected deep into your carpet fibers. The process loosens dirt, stains, and allergens, which are then powerfully extracted along with the water and cleaning solutions. This method provides a deep, thorough clean without leaving behind residue or harsh chemicals.
How long will it take my carpet to dry?
Dry times can vary depending on carpet type, humidity, and airflow. On average, carpets take 4–8 hours to dry. You can speed up the process by turning on ceiling fans, running your A/C, or opening windows if the weather allows.
How often should I vacuum my carpets?
For most homes, vacuuming at least twice a week is ideal. High traffic areas, or homes with kids or pets, may need daily vacuuming to keep dirt from settling deep into the fibers.
How often should I have my carpets professionally cleaned?
Most manufacturers recommend a professional cleaning every 12 months to maintain your carpet’s look and lifespan. If you have pets, allergies, or young kids, every 6–9 months is even better.
How often should I vacuum my furniture?
Vacuum your upholstery every 1–2 weeks to remove dust, crumbs, and pet hair. Regular vacuuming keeps fabric fresh and prevents buildup that can dull the color or damage fibers.
Can you remove pet stains and odors completely?
We will do our absolute best; we use professional grade solutions that reach beyond the surface to treat both the carpet fibers and padding. Pet odors can soak deep into the base of your carpet, and our specialized treatments neutralize them at the source. However, if the urine has soaked into the base board, sealing the base board and replacing carpet pad may be the only way to remove 100% of the smell.
Will cleaning make my carpets get dirty faster?
Not with our process! We rinse thoroughly to remove all cleaning residues, which means your carpets will stay clean longer. Old fashioned methods that leave soap behind can cause rapid re-soiling. We avoid that entirely with a final rinse to remove any remaining residue.
Can I walk on the carpet right after cleaning?
You can walk on it right away with clean socks (but who likes wet socks?) or shoe covers (we’ll leave you a pair behind because eww, wet socks) but avoid heavy traffic until it’s completely dry. This prevents dirt from sticking to damp fibers.
Can you clean area rugs or upholstery too?
Yes! We clean area rugs, couches, chairs, and more. Whether it’s a spot treatment or a full deep clean, we’ll help your entire space feel fresh again.
Do you offer deodorizing or stain protection treatments?
Yes! We offer optional deodorizing and protective treatments to help prevent future stains and neutralize odors. This is perfect for households with kids and pets.
Do you service commercial spaces or just homes?
We primarily focus on residential cleaning, but we’re happy to take on small offices, rental properties, or local businesses.
Does steam cleaning sanitize my carpet?
No , the hot water extraction process reaches high temperatures that effectively kill MOST bacteria, dust mites, and allergens, but not all. It is however, one of the most thorough and hygienic ways to clean carpets.
Do I need to move my furniture before cleaning?
Our insurance prohibits us from moving large furniture. We ask that small, breakable, or valuable items be moved beforehand. We can clean around large furniture if it is not removed.
Are your cleaning products safe for children and pets?
Absolutely. We use eco-friendly, nontoxic cleaning solutions that are safe for your family, your pets, and the environment.
Are you insured?
Yes! We are fully licensed and insured for your peace of mind. You can feel confident knowing your home and belongings are in professional, responsible hands.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance to secure your preferred day and time, especially during busy seasons. A minimum of 48 hours in advance unless there is an emergency.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and major credit/debit cards. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.
What is our “Neighborhood List?”
If your service total is under our $200 minimum, we’ll add you to our Neighborhood List. When we have a larger job scheduled in your area, we’ll give you a 36–48 hour notice to see if we can fit your cleaning in on the same trip. Being on the Neighborhood List allows us to still take care of your cleaning without charging the full minimum since we’re already in your area. It’s a win-win: you get fresh carpets or upholstery, and we make the most of our time in the neighborhood!
Do you take emergency calls?
Yes! We understand that accidents and unexpected situations happen from minor flooding to major spills, pet messes, or other urgent cleanups that just can’t wait. If you’re facing an emergency, call or text us right away, and we’ll do our best to fit you in as soon as possible, even outside regular scheduling hours. After hours and weekend availability may vary based on scheduling and location. Please note that additional emergency service fee may apply. Our goal is always to help minimize damage, reduce stress, and restore your home’s comfort as quickly as possible.
What should I do until you arrive for an emergency cleaning?
If you’re dealing with a spill, pet accident, or minor flooding, a few quick steps can help prevent further damage before we get there:
Act quickly! Blot (don’t rub!) the area with a clean, dry towel to absorb as much liquid as possible. Avoid heat! Don’t use a hair dryer, space heater, or steam on wet carpet; this can set stains or damage fibers. Lift what you can! If safe, move small furniture or items away from the affected area to prevent water damage or staining. Contain pet messes! For pet accidents, gently blot and cover the area with a dry towel until we arrive. Flooding! If it’s a significant leak or water intrusion, stop the source of water if possible and use fans to promote airflow.
Then just call or text us! We’ll guide you through any additional steps and send help as soon as possible.
